Zen Arcade are an alternative pop band from Hackney London. With a tenuous link to the Husker Du album title, the bands name pays homage to the rehearsal studio they first started writing music as schoolboys. They formed at stoke Newington arts and media school where they learnt alongside the likes of songwriter and producer Labyrinth. The style of music they played proved to be rather unique given their musical habitat. The band spent last year more or less under the radar, touring a short set of high-energy songs, supporting the likes of the wombats and the vaccines. Since then they have been writing and preparing for their first release. The bands musical influences are varied and with a collective writing partnership the music created echoes many flavours from across the globe. The band states their main references to be bands like XTC, Talking Heads and CAKE.
