Sachin + Babi Spring/Summer 2013 Took Audience on a Nomadic Journey
The Sachin + Babi Spring/Summer 2013 collection channeled the edgy confidence of the 60’s and
70’s rock and roll era while incorporating the effortless elegance of the nomadic spirit. Weathered
treatments, sheer fabrics and rich colors blended together to create classic pieces that transcend
time.
The audience of the New York Fashion Week runway show was transported on an exotic getaway
through a combination of fierce details and free-spirited silhouettes. A crystal embellished
smoking jacket sparkled down the runway, as chiffon gowns fluttered through elegantly placed
ruffles. Finishing the show was a romantic crimson red multi-layer tulle embroidered skirt with silk
appliqué, which epitomized the season’s theme of bohemian chic when paired with a crochet
bikini top and embellished linen black crochet crystal cardigan.
“This season I was inspired by the migrant lifestyle. The collection is for a woman who isn’t afraid
to travel to far away places and allow herself to become truly immersed in new cultures,” said
designer Sachin Ahluwalia. “Our designs for Spring/Summer 2013 are our interpretation of this
enriching expedition.”
