At 11:00 AM; Lincoln Center, designer Richard Chai debuted his Spring/Summer 2014 collection. For Spring/Summer 2014 Richard Chai takes inspiration from geometric shapes, executing them in a way that despite the rigidity of geometricism, still manages to feel soft and fluid. Stark combinations of contrasting elements are thoughtfully translated to emphasize a sense of juxtaposition, while still keeping Chai’s signature sophisticated design aesthetic.
The runway show had many a famous guest ranging from the beauty Christina Ricci to the werewolf/heartthrob Colton Hayes and managed to equally match the design aesthetic to the runway music by playing songs that also contrasted from The Drums to the newly discovered New Zealand talent, Lorde. The runway show was also opportunity to debut select styles of leather jackets from the new Andrew Marc x Richard Chai collaboration.
All in all, a fashion week worthy display.
More to come.
