We seat down with Lasse for an exclusive interview for our followers on blog so you will get up close and personal with Lasse Larsen.

Here we go:

1. How did you become a model, and what was your first break?

I was discovered at my job, and took the plunge to full-time just 6 months or so after going part time. I think my first real break was when I landed campaigns for St. John, Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus, hickey freeman and several others, as well as starring in a commercial for Diet Pepsi with Cindy Crawford.

2. How do you keep fit, what is your training routine and menu?

I’m just as random with my training as everything else. I’ve never been good at sticking with one thing for too long, but I avoid weights like the plague. I only do calisthenic workouts like yoga, pilates, variations of push and pull ups, squats and core exercises. I used to dance capo eira, but have little time to take classes now.

3. How do you define your style and what your favorite store to shop?

I can only define my style as random and personal as I always try new things and get inspired by pretty much anything i see.

4. What are your main interests & hobbies?

I like anything that involves creative thinking, and love entrepreneurial challenges. I also like to prepare vegan food and drinks.

5. What is the one fashion item that you can’t live without?

I’m not really attached to anything, its all just stuff. But i do have a few favorite items. but they keep changing.

6. What is your favorite place in New York?

Hmmmmmmm, that’s another tough question, at least you limited it to New York and not the world haha. I’m going to take a pass on this one lol.

7. Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?

I don’t really know any models or designers like that, as far as clothes go, I just buy what fits me well, but I aspire to getting my stuff custom made.

8. Which fashion magazines do you like to read?

GQ for the fashion inspiration. I mostly read Fast Company, Entrepreneur and Vegetarian Times

9. What’s your fashion mantra?

Its all in the fitting 🙂

10. Out of all of the photos the photographer took of you, which is your favorite and why?

I have a few favorites by now, but I think the ones that really stand out was the shoot I did with my friend and at the time Creative Director Vittorio Roberto. I loved the whole set and styling.

11. What is fun and rewarding about modeling?

Meeting new people, trying new things, traveling when its further than to the mid-west lol, I’ve had some great trips. Last year I went 10 days to China with a client. That was an awesome trip.

12. What do you dislike about modeling?

All the politics, I think life would be much easier without it. There’s just too much ego in this business.

13. What advice do you have for other aspiring models?

Stay busy and have other interests besides modeling, take nothing personal – they don’t know you. Stay healthy, be professional – its a business after all, and most of all. Have fun.

14. Who are some of your favorite fashion photographers?

Hmmmm, that’s a good question. I think the ones I admire are the old school shooters like Avedon, Lindbergh, Ritts and the likes. I’m not an expert on that field, but I do like it when I work with a photographer who can give great direction. I feel more like an actor than a model in that way. I love when I have a good connection and communication with the photographer and art director, so I can help translate their ideas and vision onto the film.

15. What does fashion mean to you?

Looking great while making it look like there was little to no effort involved. Sense of style.

16. What distinguishes a good model from a bad one?

That’s a good question. Longevity for one I think. Ability to adapt to change. Sense of self, and of course being very comfortable in front of the camera.

17. How has modeling changed other aspects of your life?

Well, when I started modeling I was doing it part-time, but after about a year I took the plunge into full-time and have been ever since. That changed everything in my life. I went places I never thought I’d go, and people I in my wildest imagination would never had think to meet. Celebrities, Royalty, Billionaires, you name it I’ve met them. Some are my friends now.

18. what’s inspire you in life as a person?

More things than I can list here. Pretty much anything my eye catches somehow inspires me. Even things I hear can inspire me.

19. what’s the dream project you fantasize to do?

I no longer fantasize I’m doing it. I’m launching my first very own business, and its so exciting to see it take form. Its an online private sales company.

I have other projects cooking as well. I’m working on a documentary movie, and an online magazine as well. I love being busy.

20. thru out your modeling carrier so far what is the best memory you have?

oh wow, ok one memory that stands out was on a trip to South Africa. I was standing on the hill that overlooks bantree bay, and over the water I saw the sun coming through the clouds, like a mirage. It was just a very profound moment. I’ve experienced so much in this business, but my most profound memories aren’t directly connected to my career. I had the fortune to experience travels to India and Nepal, and stayed in a Monestary with the buddhist monks.

21. where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Honestly, I don’t even know where this crazy ride will take me in 1 year lol, but if its going to be as crazy as its been up to now, I’ll probably be writing a book about it, or make a movie lol.

22. This one is optional: Do you want to share anything with the viewers that nobody knows?

Ha ha I really don’t know what they don’t know about me anymore, since my appearance on that reality show, my life has become very public, and I’m surprised at how resourceful my fans are at finding information on me.

Lasse Larsen is a down to earth and busy dude with allot of projects ahead of him. We will keep
