Today we introduce you The very promising face on the model scene these days , fashion model Steve Boyd from Soul Artist Management, New York.


Steve Boyd is originally From Chicago Illinois, was raised with a younger brother (Eric) and sister (Marina). His roots are Danish decent from his father side and Italian from the mom side.


Growing up Steve’s father started a landscaping and snow plowing business that he & Steve invested a lot of work and effort into, but Steve is a total mama’s boy.. like he stated: ” I love my mother, I’m a classic mama’s boy”.


Since he was a little kid, Steve was a super hero fanatic, his whole life he have looked up to Superman, Steve: “one day I want to make a difference in the world like Superman does in the
comics, but unfortunately I can’t fly, at least not yet ;-) ”.. .As we say, always dream big!


After graduating high school Steve moved to Miami for college where he thought he met the girl of my dreams but had his heart broken around the same time.
He got discovered in Miami & was asked to model. since then Steve moved to New York with the influence of his close friends and now working as a full time model in the big city.


In a short time Steve Boyd already creating a big buzz in the modeling scene, shoot for fashion editorials, fashion magazines, worked on a few ad campaigns and getting ready for the upcoming New York fashion week in September 2011.


Steve stated: “my life has been a dream come true, kind of like living in a movie”. And as we see so far he is going in the right direction, signing up with the biggest agency in New York, Soul Artist Management, and you can see his work all over, and many projects are on the horizon.


We seat down with Steve Boyd for an exclusive interview for nyc-fashion.com to get up close and personal with the rising star in the making called Steve Boyd.

1. How did you become a model, and what was your first break?

I was scouted in Miami pumping iron while I was attending my last year of college, it has been a life changing experience especially after working in landscaping, snow plowing, and house cleaning my whole life,
this industry has truly been a dream for me!


2. How do you keep fit, what is your training routine and menu?

I go for a run when I feel like it and I eat when I feel like it.


3. How do you define your style and what your favorite store to shop?

Being a fall weather person; I love boots, jeans and a leather jacket.


4. What are your main interests & hobbies?

I love martial arts. I’m a rifle, pistol, knife, hatchet, and bow and arrow marksman. Every since I could walk I have played all sorts of sports. With a military background I have high respect for our troops
that serve in the forces! I have a passion for sketch art and writing stories.


5. What is the one fashion item that you can’t live without?

My wallet.


6. What is your favorite place in New York?

I love East Village in New York.


7. Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?

I don’t have any.


8. Which fashion magazines do you like to read?

GQ.


9. What’s your fashion mantra?

Steve Boyd.


10. Out of all of the photos the photographer took of you, which is your favorite and why?

They are all special in their own way because each moment that is captured on camera has a memory behind it to me.


11. What is fun and rewarding about modeling?

The money and the life style.


12. What do you dislike about modeling?

Nothing.



13. What advice do you have for other aspiring models?

Just be yourself, don’t try to be something your not.


14. Who are some of your favorite fashion photographers?

Chiun-Kai Shee, Michael Reh, Gregory Vaughon, Rick Day, Bruce Weber.


15. What does fashion mean to you?

In terms of style everyone swims with their own current, that’s fashion.



16. What distinguishes a good model from a bad one?
That’s for an agent or client to decide what is good or bad, not the model.


17. How has modeling changed other aspects of your life?

For me, it made art come to life.



18. what’s inspire you in life as a person?

We are very fortunate to be able to walk, talk, breath, see, listen and touch. People who are less fortunate who have to overcome physical and/or mental challenges with a positive attitude have such an intense inspiration for me to help save the world one day.


19. what’s the dream project you fantasize to do?

Probably an Armani campaign in a distant land ;-)


20. thru out your modeling carrier so far what is the best memory you have?

Traveling to distant places on the planet and to get paid to do it with people that make the environment and experience that much better.


21. where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I don’t even know where I’ll be tomorrow, I live for the day.



22. Do you want to share anything with the viewers that nobody knows?

Well………I still watch cartoons! (Hahaha… Don’t we all).
